Awesome digital bokeh in Photoshop by Fabio Sasso

Fabio Sasso is a graphic/web designer from Porto Alegre, Brazil and the founder of Abduzeedo. Where you can find lots of information, tips, and ideas.

“I will show you how to create a digital bokeh effect in Photoshop. The process is very easy and we will be using the super powerful Brush Engine, one of the coolest things in Photoshop.

Step 1

Create a new document in Photoshop. As usual I will use a nice scree resolution, 1920×1200 pixels. Fill the background layer with a very dark grey, not black. If you fill it with black the effect won’t work. The color I used was #262626.

Editing Newborn Images

This is a retouching tutorial using the free CoffeeShop Baby PowderRoom action from Morgan Kervin.

I get asked if I have any tips for editing newborns quite a bit, so here is what I do to make those adorable little ones into a beautiful portrait :)

First I will have to say that for newborn pictures it is all about the lighting, even lighting will give you a more even skin tone and you will have less editing to do. Also shooting in RAW is a must! At this session this adorable little girl gave a smile, just 1 smile…..and my strobe, camera left didn’t fire so the lighting is not at all what I wanted.

Lens distortion and perspective correction in architecture photography

This article is for those who do not have  tilt shift adapter or TS lens and still do architecture photography.
I’ll show you how to correct perspective distortion using Photoshop. Camera lens distortions occur frequently when taking pictures of architectural subjects with a wide-angle lens and the need to use an external program. Distortion will always have place when  we shoot tall buildings, tilting the camera upwards.  There is no way (unless you have TS adapter or lens)  to get  vertical lines to be vertical on a picture, as it will fall in the middle.

However, you can easily correct camera lens distortions using Photoshop or other photo software.

Below you can  find list of software for lens distortion and perspective correction and tutorial how to fix it in Adobe Photoshop
